# Managing Walks

> Organize, track, print, and complete your walk program.

## The walks list

**Dashboard → Walks** shows all walks for your campaign. Each row shows:

* Walk name and status
* Stop count and completion percentage
* Assigned volunteer(s)
* Scheduled date (if set)

Use the **search bar** to filter by name. Toggle **Show Completed** to see finished walks.

## Walk statuses

| Status          | Meaning                                  |
| --------------- | ---------------------------------------- |
| **Draft** | Not ready — still being configured |
| **Ready** | Ready for assignment or claiming |
| **Assigned**    | Volunteer(s) assigned, not yet started   |
| **In Progress** | At least one volunteer has started |
| **Completed** | All stops resolved or walk marked done |
| **Canceled** | Walk was canceled — not counted in stats |

## Bulk operations

Select multiple walks with the checkboxes, then use **Organize** to:

* Assign a script to all selected walks
* Assign a survey to all selected walks
* Change status in bulk
* Select All walks at once

## The walk detail page

Opening a walk shows:

* **Map** — stop pins color-coded by outcome; scroll-wheel is disabled but the +/- buttons zoom in and out
* **Stops card** — shows completed / total stops. When at least one stop has been visited, the card turns dark green with a pulsing yellow dot. Click it to open the full Field Results page.
* **Script** and **Survey** assigned
* **Assignments** — who is walking and their individual progress
* **Live** button — opens real-time volunteer tracking map

## Viewing walk results (Field Results)

Click the **Stops card** (dark green, pulsing yellow dot) on any walk detail page to open the Field Results screen.

### The results table

The table shows every stop that has been visited, with columns for Address, Outcome chip, Residents, Walker, and Time. A clipboard icon indicates survey answers were recorded; a chat icon means the walker left a note.

Use the **search bar** to filter by address or voter name. Use the **outcome dropdown** to filter by a specific result type (Home Engaged, No Answer, Refused, etc.).

### Outcome color codes

| Outcome                        | Meaning                                       |
| ------------------------------ | --------------------------------------------- |
| **Home · Engaged** | Someone was home and spoke with the volunteer |
| **Home · Survey** | Home, engaged, and completed the full survey |
| **No answer** | Nobody came to the door |
| **Left lit** | Nobody home — literature left |
| **Refused** | Resident declined to engage |
| **Wrong address / Moved away** | Address on file is incorrect |
| **Do not contact** | Marked DNC by the volunteer |

### Stop detail panel

Click any row to open the stop detail panel. It has four tabs:

**Outcome** — Visit result, walker name, visit time, and a chip list of all registered voters at the address.

**Voters** — One card per registered voter: name, party affiliation, and age range.

**Survey** — One card per question answered at this stop, showing the prompt and recorded answer.

**Notes** — Walker's note (amber highlight) plus a full metadata summary (status, household size, walker, time, city, ZIP).

### Summary stats

At the top of the Field Results page, four stat cards summarize the walk:

| Card               | Counts                                |
| ------------------ | ------------------------------------- |
| **Visited**        | Total stops visited                   |
| **Home & Engaged** | Contact rate with percentage |
| **No Answer** | No contact attempts |
| **Other** | Refused, moved, DNC, language barrier |

## Printing walk sheets (Walk Books)

For paper-based canvassing or areas with poor cell coverage:

1. Open the walk detail page
2. Click **Print Walk Book**
3. A printer-ready PDF generates with the optimized route, voter info for each stop, and space for handwritten notes

## Door hangers

Culper generates one door hanger per household. To print:

1. Open the walk detail page
2. Click **Print Door Hangers**
3. Select a template, print and cut

Door hangers are left when nobody is home and are tracked per household.

## Marking a walk complete

Walks complete automatically when all stops are visited. To manually complete a walk:

1. Open the walk detail page
2. Click the status chip and select **Completed**
