Culper has five roles. Every campaign member has exactly one role, and it controls every action they can take.

Permissions by role

Candidate

  • Everything a Campaign Manager can do
  • Manages billing and subscription
  • Can change any team member’s role including Campaign Managers
  • Can archive or delete the campaign

Campaign Manager

  • Full voter data access (query, lists, walks, outreach)
  • Invite and manage Staff and Volunteers
  • View all walk results and survey responses
  • Cannot access billing or change the Candidate’s role

Staff

  • Access to voter query, lists, and outreach
  • Can create and manage walks
  • Cannot manage billing or team roles
  • Cannot archive the campaign

Volunteer

  • Mobile app only — cannot access the web dashboard
  • Sees only their assigned walks
  • Can complete surveys at the door
  • Cannot see other volunteers’ data or campaign-wide stats

Donor/Subscriber

  • No login — interacts with public donation and event widgets only

Changing roles

See Adding Team Members → Managing roles after invite.
A campaign can have multiple accounts (one per device/person), but billing is tied to the Candidate account. If the Candidate leaves, contact support to transfer ownership.
